Luis Penafort

Luis Andres Penafort, better known as Andy, was born September 3, 1988, in El Monte, California. He is the eldest of 3 children born to Luis Antonio Penafort & Margarita Penafort of Mexican decent. His mother testifies that like Ana she prayed to God that He may grant her a miracle to have a child that she would dedicate to His service.

Andy grew up always wanting to participate in church and all activities. As he matured, he took on responsibilities in taking leadership roles such as Youth President and a District Leader within the youth ministry for the Church of God International Movement. He continues to serve within his home church for more than 15 years in various capacities but primarily as Music Director and Secretary of the Administrative Board for the Church of God International Movement in Jonesboro, GA under the leadership of Rev. Elfris Cortez. In recent years he has been able to participate in the Men’s Ministry as Treasurer at the District Level and then recently elected to serve as Sub-Treasure at the Regional Level.

As Music Director of his home church, he has been able to grow and play various instruments. He has been blessed to also be incorporated in an up-and-coming band, Qadmiel Worship. Andy was also blessed this year with a Mini-Scholarship from Institute Canzion where his passion to grow my skill and continue to serve the Lord through his love for music.

In 2014 he graduated Cum Laude from Clayton State University in Morrow, GA with a bachelor’s degree in information technology. He is actively pursuing a master’s in computer science from Georgia Institute of Technology. Andy’s education has allowed him to follow a career path in Software and Web Development for companies such as Analyst, AT&T, and currently Delta Airlines. His experience enables him to also serve various parts of non-profit organizations by consulting and/or providing web services to his home church, the executive board of the South Atlantic Region, our Regional Men’s Ministry, Youth leadership, Visionaries of Christ and most recently the band Qadmiel Worship.

If there are two things that stand out about Andy is his ongoing desire to serve the Lord and to further his education so he can continue to serve the Lord and God’s Kingdom with excellence and to the full extent of his abilities.
